If I were to give a recital and I'd have free rein to choose what songs to include in the program, I'd choose this song.
"Vaga luna, che inargenti" composed by Vincenzo Bellini.
It's sung here by Luciano Pavarotti in a 1988 recital. The accompanist is James Levine.
Oh whee! I sang that early on in my vocal studies :) Beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. Do you have a video of you singing it?
ReplyDeleteThe only video (audio, actually) I have is me accompanying myself while singing it, from 3.5 years ago...about 3 months into vocal studies. And then my sister came into the room when I was recording, startling me. Lol.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll record it again sometime...and do a better job of it. Heehee.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait.
